This type of painting is unarguably the most popular representation of African art. Virtually all artists from West Africa have one time or the other being inspired to create a painting from this concept. The same goes for the African sculptors and craftsmen.
Sure, the reason for this is not far fetched. It is embedded in culture. The African tradition of load carrying on the head. From logs of wood, to basins of water, calabashes, school bags and books, wherever you go, someone somewhere is carrying something on his or her head.
However, the aesthetic view of this African culture has being popularized by the Fulani women north of the Niger. Naturally endowed and The elegance and gracefulness of their steps captures the mind of any art lover and invokes the spirit of art.

In this painting Silver A. tries to deviate from the regular norm by placing the African girl on an abstract background. He of course exalts the feminine feel of the artwork by restricting his colors to varying shades of pink. Lovely piece of art in my words.
